Sandpiper Range, a wine for so many occasions, New World meets
Old World with definite French finesse……
When you have so many great varieties to choose from in the South of France, it is understandable that blends can create great wines. The Sandpiper range is our mixed variety selection. Each wine has been blended to offer something with a difference. Whether it be using the wonderfully limey freshness of the Marsanne with Chardonnay, or combining the austere nature of the Cabernet from the area with the old vine super ripe Syrah. Each wine has been created to have a point of difference.
The newest additions show how this concept works so well.
The
CVS using a modern blend of Chardonnay and Viognier, was
an obvious choice but the wine was lacking in a firm fresh
finish, so I added the Sauvignon to complete this delicate
but complex collaboration.
The
GMS using a wonder parcel of Malbec and a very powerful
Grenache needed to be softened by the super ripe Shiraz,
this wine has a powerful punch, but on the other hand is
not over powering.
Our
new Diamond Cuvee Reserve, Blanquette de Limoux uses 90%
Mauzac and 10% Chardonnay. The Mauzac delivers the wonderful
freshness required in a sparkling and the Chardonnay enhances
the wine with that touch of toastiness on the finish. Lovely!
