The Black Lagoon Range Vin de Pays d'Oc - Languedoc
The
Black Lagoon range of wines displays a wonderful mixture
of sunny Mediterranean climate and New World wine-making
techniques. The full range delivers an intensity of flavours,
true to the varieties they are made from. The wines are
structured, balanced and carry a kick of fruit intensity.
Quality in the wine and packaging go hand in hand.
Our
experienced winemakers work with a number of small growers
and co-operatives stretching from Nezingnan l'Eveque (east
of Beziers) to Limoux (west of Carcassone) and St Hippolite
in the South near Perpignan. From this patchwork of producers,
the range of building blocks available is fantastic. The
selection of grapes for the Black Lagoon range is top quality.
Consistency of fruit quality year on year is paramount.
The
whites are hand picked (mostly during the dawn hours), cool
fermenting techniques are used, with aromatic yeast. The
reds are also hand picked from old bush vines. Low yields
have always been key to achieving high concentration and
firm structures. Both American and French oak are used during
maturation to enhance the complexity of the finished wines.
The
perfect complement to this range is the Black Lagoon Southern
Gold Muscat de Rivesaltes, a wine of wonderful intensity
and class. Delicate in colour combined with sophisticated
aromas, it can be drunk both as an aperitif and with any
number of sweet dishes.
